This ground-breaking method identifies the main sources of noise and provides information on where they are located both vertically and horizontally. In reality, the measurement of directionality offers the chance to identify the predominant noise source in the measuring area or to omit undesirable occurrences. The DIRECTION of a DOMINANT NOISE SOURCE in the vertical and horizontal axes is detected using the sound intensity technique by four additional microphones that are mounted on the sides of the housing.
