An apparatus specifically designed to calibrate and confirm the accuracy of accelerometers, vibration sensors, and vibration measurement systems is called a vibration calibrator. Users can verify that their vibration measurement equipment is operating properly and producing accurate data by using the known, controlled vibration signal that has a specified frequency and amplitude that is provided by the device. In order to calibrate and validate the performance of vibration sensors and measurement systems, vibration calibrators produce regulated mechanical vibrations at particular frequencies and amplitudes. Though some models might include other waveform options like random or sweeping sine waveforms, they usually create sinusoidal vibrations.
